This week, the Early Years children went on the school bus to Steve Harris Ltd Meon-Bye Farm in Titchfield. They were met in the farm by Connie, who told the children all about pumpkins and how they grow. She said that even the squashed pumpkins in the field are important, as they contain seeds to grow new pumpkins. Connie also showed the children a ‘ghost pumpkin’! The children then searched in a field for a pumpkin to take home.
On our return to Early Years, the children listened to the story ‘Pumpkin Soup’ and then helped to make some soup using the pumpkins from the farm. It was delicious!
Thank you farmer Connie for a wonderful morning
